Booking a slot to visit the Rawdah (الروضة الشريفة) is done through the official Nusuk application.
Do I need to create an account for each person? How to make a group booking? What do the different symbols displayed in the app mean? When do new slots appear and what to do if no space is available before departure?
Here are the answers to the main questions regarding the booking of the Rawdah.
⚠️ Important: the Nusuk application is regularly updated. The location of features, booking procedures, and eligibility rules may change. Always rely on the information displayed directly in the app.
Do I need to create a Nusuk account for each person?
Unlike the Nusuk Hajj platform, where it is possible to create a family group including several members, the Nusuk app is initially based on personal access.
Each person must therefore create their own account with their information to have their profile and Nusuk ID.
However, since an update to the app, it is now possible to add family members or friends to your account. This feature allows for group bookings so that several people can visit the Rawdah together.
How to add a loved one in “Family and Friends”?
To link a loved one’s Nusuk account to yours:
- Open the Nusuk app.
- From the home screen, click on the four dots located at the top left.
- Select “Family and Friends”.
- Tap on “Add Friend”.
- Enter the Nusuk ID of the person you wish to add.
- Verify the information and then confirm the request.
- a group booking for women;
- a group booking for men.

The person concerned will then receive a notification of the addition in their Nusuk app. They will need to open it and accept the invitation to be associated with your account.
This step does not replace the creation of their personal account: the person you wish to add must already have their own Nusuk profile and ID.
Can we book the Rawdah in a group?
Once the invitations are accepted, it is possible to make a group booking for the people associated with your account.
However, it is important to consider one key point: the bookings for men and women are different.
If your family or group consists of men and women, you will need to make separate bookings:
Each group will need to choose a slot that corresponds to the availability offered for their gender.
What do the different Rawdah slot statuses mean?
To understand how and when to book, it is important to recognize the different symbols displayed in Nusuk.
Each icon corresponds to a particular status and informs you about the availability of the slot.
The open and clickable slot
When the slot is open and can be selected, it means a booking is possible.
You can click on it, choose the time that suits you, and proceed with the booking.
As slots can go very quickly, it is advisable to confirm your choice without delay.
The hourglass
The hourglass symbol indicates that the slot will be available soon.
It is not yet possible to book it, but its opening is approaching. Stay attentive and check the app regularly so you can act as soon as it becomes accessible.
The lightning bolt
The lightning bolt symbol corresponds to an immediate slot.
This is a short-term booking opportunity. You must therefore be available and particularly responsive when this type of slot appears.
The prayer symbol
The symbol representing prayer indicates that a slot is available during a mandatory prayer time.
Consider this point before confirming to choose a time that fits your schedule.
The settings symbol
The settings symbol indicates that the slot cannot be booked, as the Rawdah is under maintenance.
You will need to wait and check the app again later.
When do new Rawdah slots appear?
There is no permanent official schedule indicating a specific time when all new slots are published.
Generally, slots open every half hour, and new places may appear gradually, in waves.
It may therefore be useful to check Nusuk at different times of the day, rather than logging in just once at a specific hour.
A lack of availability in the morning does not necessarily mean no slots will appear later.
Regularly check the app and be ready to confirm your booking quickly as soon as a slot suits you.
Do I need to book the Rawdah before I leave?
It is important to try to book your slot as soon as you receive your visa and install the Nusuk app.
Don’t wait until the last minute. The closer your departure gets, the more likely you are to encounter difficulties finding a date that fits your stay in Medina.
However, if you find no availability before your trip, don’t lose hope. Another option may be offered when you are on site: the immediate track.
What is the immediate track “Instant Track”?
The immediate track, called Instant Track or المسار الفوري, allows you to search for very short-term availability when you are near the Prophet’s Mosque ﷺ in Medina.
To use this feature, your phone’s geolocation must be enabled.
The immediate track was introduced to provide additional options based on available capacities.
Which door to use to enter the Rawdah?
On the day of your appointment, follow the instructions on your Nusuk permit as well as the guidance given by the agents at the Prophet’s Mosque ﷺ.
Access may be organized or modified depending on periods and crowd levels, so do not rely solely on a door communicated in advance.
The information displayed on your permit and the instructions given on-site remain a priority.
Can you visit the Rawdah multiple times?
It is important to distinguish between standard booking and the immediate track.
The standard booking has historically been associated with a frequency limitation, particularly over a 365-day period.
The introduction of the immediate track, however, has allowed visitors around the Prophet’s Mosque ﷺ to access new availabilities without necessarily waiting for this period, subject to available capacities.
My appointment no longer suits me: what to do?
If you have secured an appointment but know that you will not be able to attend, cancel your booking in Nusuk as soon as possible.
This action helps to free up the slot so that another visitor can benefit from it.
Do not deliberately wait for your appointment to expire. As soon as you know you cannot be present, consider cancelling it through the app.
